Lit alive

When I think of my time at ACE, I think of all of the lessons on differentiating lessons. Avoiding biases is important, even biases that are unintentional. I truly enjoyed the classes that discussed higher order learning and picking lessons that could be used by students of all learning styles.

I also learned about how to better collaborate with students, parents, and colleagues. Having an open dialog with students is important for establishing a community of trust and a desire to make everyone feel welcome. Online learning should be a welcoming place where the teacher can be available to the students. To keep the students engaged, It is important to create an atmosphere of learning.

Online learning has changed even its short existence from the Pandemic to now. Technology constantly changes and it is important to keep up on what is new and available for educational use. I have learned to use so many new platforms as I have worked my way through graduate school. The materials I have learned help make me a better teacher. There are many ways to incorporate the lessons into my already existing curriculum.

As for the professors, I have had so many good instructors. From the presentations to the assignments, I have been able to learn from a variety of teachers from various backgrounds. This allows for differing opinions on issues that are important to education.

As my time winds down and comes to an end, I am very proud of how I have been able to achieve good grades while working as a full time teacher. I would definitely recommend American College of Education to others. It is affordable and the staff are helpful. I have enjoyed my time spent learning from ACE.

Last, but not least, I can honestly say that as a teacher, I am always a student too. Education is a field where one can teach, learn, and grow each and every year. I know that teaching gets a bad rep, but there is no other career that I would ever want. I am proud to say that my oldest son also became a teacher. It is not a career where you make loads of money, but the rewards are worth so much more. To see a student get the knowledge that you are trying to teach them and come back after they graduate is priceless. I am sad that I am done at ACE, but I will use what I have learned forever.

Sincerely,

Cathy
